Cvijetić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Knin area , whereas often Croats (iz Tuzla Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Split. In Klečkovac in Romania (Bosnia) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Cvijetić.
Prevalence
About 180 people with faimily name Cvijetić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 280 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 26 cities and 11 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Rijeka (30), Split (25), Tenja (10), and in Gabos in Vinkovci area (10).
Outside Croatia
At least five families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: the United States (3), Norway (1), and to Germany (1). Family name Cvijetić is present in 17 countries on four continents. The family name "Cvijetic " is used by some 80 people in the United States , small number in Switzerland , and small number of people in Australia.
