In Croatia, Curo families are Bosniaks (from Podrinje (Bosnia) ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Podrinje, Bosnia (Gorazde area). In Šemihova in Podrinje (Bosnia) every third inhabitant had the family name Curo.
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Curo live in Croatia today, in one household only. They are located in only two Croatian places: in Sroki in Rijeka area (<5) and Rijeka (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1938 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
