In Croatia, Culić families are mainly Serbs, less frequently Croats (from the Island of Brac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pakrac and on the Island of Brac. In Ožegovci in Pakrac every sixth inhabitant had the family name Culić.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Culić live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are only located in in 7 Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Supetar on the Island of Brac (10), Tovarnik in Ilok area (<10), Zagreb (<10), Split (<5), and in Porec (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
