Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Cukar live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 6 cities and four other places, mostly in Kukljica on the Island of Ugljan (10), Zadar (10), Olib (<10), Zagreb (<10), and in Split (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
