In Croatia, Cibilić families are almost entirely Croats (from Peljesac Peninsula ), barely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on Peljesac Peninsula and in Dubrovnik. In Duba Pelješka on Peljesac Peninsula every third inhabitant had the family name Cibilić.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Cibilić live in Croatia today, in 16 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in threee Croatian counties, four cities and 7 other places, mostly in Split (10), in Orebic (10) and Duba Peljeska (10) on the Peljesac peninsula, Zagreb (<10), and in Oskorusno on the Peljesac peninsula (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
