Ceranić families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Ogulin , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Ogulin and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Ceranić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 5 other places, mostly in Ogulin (65), Zagreb (15), Rijeka (<10), Stobrec (<10), and in Zagrovic (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1750 in source 18th Century Census.
