Bulić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Sinj area , barely Serbs and Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Sinj area. In Gornje Ogorje in Sinj area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Bulić.
Prevalence
About 1800 people with faimily name Bulić live in Croatia today, in 710 households. There were 1300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 68 cities and 122 other places, mostly in Split (405), Zagreb (295), Zadar (140), Tugare (140), and in Solin (70).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1689 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
