In Croatia, Bujačić families are Croats (from the Island of Losinj ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zadar and on the Island of Losinj. In Premuda in Zadar every sixth inhabitant had the family name Bujačić.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Bujačić live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are only located in in 7 Croatian cities and 7 other places, mostly in Mali Losinj on the Island of Losinj (<10), Premuda (<10), Rijeka (<10), Split (<5), and in Zadar (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
