Bujak families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Dubrovnik area , also Hungarians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik area and in Dubrovnik.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Bujak live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Slano in Dubrovnik area (10), Split (10), Osijek (<10), and in Dubrovnik (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
