Brus families are Croats and they are mostly from Pozega area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pozega and Pakrac. In Poljanska in Pozega area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Brus.

Prevalence

About 160 people with faimily name Brus live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 90 percent.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 25 other places, mostly in Pozega (45), Zagreb (20), Dugo Selo (10), Ovcare in Orahovica area (<10), and in Donja Moticina in Nasice area (<10).
