Bravar families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Pazin , rarely Italians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Pazin. In Kašćerga in Pazin every tenth inhabitant had the family name Bravar.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Bravar live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 9 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Pula (25), Pazin (20), Kascerga (15), Porec (<10), and in Labinci in Novigrad area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
