Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Braus live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in two Croatian counties, four cities and threee other places, mostly in Pula (20), Marcana in Pula area (10), Zagreb (<10), Cokuni in Pula area (<10), and in Rovinj (<5).
Outside Croatia
At least three families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to Argentina (2) and the United States (1). Family name Braus is present in 23 countries worldwide. The family name "Braus " is used by some 800 people in Germany , about 500 in the United States , and some 300 people in Italy. "Brauss " is used by some 200 people in the United States , about 60 in Germany , and small number of people in Canada.
