Bratić families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia , rarely Serbs and Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Tesanj area) and in Split.
Prevalence
About 610 people with faimily name Bratić live in Croatia today, in 260 households. There were 380 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 42 cities and 66 other places, mostly in Split (95), Zagreb (80), Sibenik (30), Neoric in Sinj area (30), and in Osijek (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
