Boršić families are Croats and they are mostly from Pregrada area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Slovenia. In Gornje Brezno in Pregrada area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Boršić.
Prevalence
About 510 people with faimily name Boršić live in Croatia today, in 230 households. There were 640 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 30 cities and 68 other places, mostly in Zagreb (150), in Gornje Brezno (40) and Hum na Sutli (25) in Pregrada area, Rijeka (20), and in Gabrovec (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
