Borčić families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Vis , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 420 people with faimily name Borčić live in Croatia today, in 230 households. There were 580 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 29 cities and 46 other places, mostly in Zagreb (105), Split (60), Rijeka (55), Komiza on the Island of Vis (35), and in Karlovac (20).
