Borković families are often Croats and they are mostly from Jastrebarsko , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Jastrebarsko. In Domagović in Jastrebarsko every fourth inhabitant had the family name Borković.
Prevalence
About 540 people with faimily name Borković live in Croatia today, in 230 households. There were 710 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 39 cities and 56 other places, mostly in Domagovic (70), Zagreb (65), Split (30), Belica in Cakovec area (25), and in Cakovec (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
