Bodlović families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Brac , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Hrvatska Kostajnica area and in Otocac. In Komora in Hrvatska Kostajnica area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Bodlović.
Prevalence
About 180 people with faimily name Bodlović live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 310 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Bol on the Island of Brac (25), Jagodnjak in Beli Manastir area (25), Zagreb (25), Sibinj in Slavonski Brod area (20), and in Split (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
