Surname Boca in modern Croatia

Boca families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Zadar area , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Ogulin and Rijeka. In Kunić in Slunj area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Boca.

Prevalence

About 130 people with faimily name Boca live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 180 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Rijeka (25), Zagreb (20), Islam Latinski in Zadar area (15), Josipdol in Ogulin area (10), and in Pula (<10).
