Boc families are Croats and they are mostly from Zlatar area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Zlatar area.
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Boc live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, threee cities and 17 other places, mostly in Zagreb (55), Laz Bistricki in Zlatar area (20), Grabic in Slatina area (<10), Repusnica (<10), and in Podgorje Bistricko in Zlatar area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
