Blagojević families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from middle Bosnia , whereas often Croats (from Donji Miholjac area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Doboj, Bosnia (Doboj area). In Kupljensko in Duga Resa area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Blagojević.
Prevalence
About 760 people with faimily name Blagojević live in Croatia today, in 350 households. There were 460 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 66 cities and 89 other places, mostly in Zagreb (150), Rijeka (35), Vukovar (35), Pula (30), and in Dalj in Vinkovci area (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1749 in source 18th Century Census.
