Benčak families are Croats and they are mostly from Krizevci area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Krizevci area and in Zagreb. In Selanec in Krizevci area every third inhabitant had the family name Benčak.
Prevalence
About 220 people with faimily name Benčak live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 310 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 32 other places, mostly in Sesvete (45), Selanec in Krizevci area (40), Krizevci (25), Zagreb (20), and in Medja in Krizevci area (15).
