Belovari families are Croats and they are mostly from Medjimurje (Prelog, Donja Dubrava). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Cakovec.
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Belovari live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Donji Kraljevec in Prelog area (20), Bjelovar (<10), Sveta Marija in Prelog area (<10), and in Mala Pisanica in Grubisno Polje area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
