In Croatia, Bella families are predominantly Croats (from Daruvar area ), rarely Hungarians (from Daruvar area ), and very rarely Czechs (also from Daruvar area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pakrac and Duga Resa.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Bella live in Croatia today, in 8 households. They are only located in four Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Dezanovac in Daruvar area (<10), Zagreb (<10), Vinkovci (<5), Daruvarski Brestovac in Daruvar area (<5), and in Stari Mikanovci in Djakovo area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
