In Croatia, Belin families are Croats (from the Island of Mljet ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and on the Island of Mljet. In Belinsko Selo in Ozalj every second inhabitant had the family name Belin.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Belin live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Dubrovnik (15), Zagreb (<10), Trpanj on the Peljesac peninsula (<10), Prozurska Luka on the Island of Mljet (<10), and in Gajec (<10).
