Bebek families are Croats and they are mostly from Herzegovina. According to some sources they are from Kunovca near Koprivnice. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Herzegovina (Ljubuski area) and in North Herzegovina (Konjic area). In places Šipovača and Veljaci in Herzegovina every sixth inhabitant had the family name Bebek.
