In Croatia, Batori families are generally Croats (from Djakovo area ), very rarely Hungarians (from Beli Manastir area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Djakovo area and in Djakovo area.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Batori live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 14 other places, mostly in Djakovo (15), Pozega (<10), Cepin in Osijek area (<10), Kovacevac (<10), and in Karanac in Beli Manastir area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
