Batić families are Croats and they are mostly from Knin. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin and Zagreb. In Potkonje in Knin every fifth inhabitant had the family name Batić.
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Batić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Knin (25), Potkonje (15), Dubrovnik (<10), and in Zastenice in Rijeka area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1932 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
