Batista families are Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Busovaca area) and in Middle Bosnia (Zenica area). In places Nezirovići and Gusti Grab in Middle Bosnia every fifth inhabitant had the family name Batista.

They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 23 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Rijeka (25), Komletinci in Vinkovci area (15), Marinici in Rijeka area (10), and in Slavonski Brod (<10).
