Prevalence
About 170 people with faimily name Batina live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 260 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Dubrovnik (25), Kastel Sucurac (20), Gornja Bistra in Oroslavje area (20), Zagreb (20), and in Mlini in Dubrovnik area (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1729 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
