Bartulović families are Croats and they are mostly from Ploce area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Banja Luka Region, Bosnia (Banja Luka area). In Blato na Cetini in Omis every seventh inhabitant had the family name Bartulović.
Prevalence
About 1200 people with faimily name Bartulović live in Croatia today, in 490 households. There were 650 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 90 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 50 cities and 111 other places, mostly in Split (285), Zagreb (120), Blato na Cetini (90), Blace in Opuzen area (55), and in Vinkovci (50).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
