Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Barto live in Croatia today, in 15 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties and 7 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Grbavac (<10), Grubisno Polje (<10), Velika Jasenovaca (<5), and in Bjelovar (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1931 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
