About 50 people with faimily name Baranja live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Ivankovo in Vinkovci area (<10), Slavonski Brod (<10), Knezevo in Beli Manastir area (<10), Gornji Kucan (<5), and in Vrhi Pregradski (<5).

Family name Baranja (including: Baranya , Barania and Bharanya ) is present in 21 countries worldwide. The family name "Baranja " is used by small number of people in Hungary and small number in the United States.
