Barada families are Croats and they are mostly from Trogir area (Seget Gornji). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Trogir and Split.
Prevalence
About 250 people with faimily name Barada live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Trogir (120), Zagreb (30), Seget Donji in Trogir area (25), Split (20), and in Seget Vranjica in Trogir area (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1942 in source Phone Directory of the Independent State of Croatia 1942.
