In Croatia, Banjšak families are almost entirely Croats (from Pregrada area ), very rarely Bosniaks (from Zagreb ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Koprivnica.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Banjšak live in Croatia today, in 14 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located and four other Croatian places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Donji Skrnik in Pregrada area (<10), Lenisce in Klanjec area (<5), Razvor in Pregrada area (<5), and in Pula (<5).
Outside Croatia
Family name Banjšak is present in four countries on three continents. The family name "Banjsak " is used by small number of people in Argentina and small number of people in the United States.
