Balint families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Virovitica area , often Hungarians (from Banat, Vojvodina ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and in Virovitica area.

About 130 people with faimily name Balint live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Bilje in Osijek area (15), Slatina (10), Zagreb (10), Osijek (<10), and in Kopacevo in Osijek area (<10).
