Bajrektarević families are mainly Bosniaks and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), whereas often Croats (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Velika Kladusa area) and in Rijeka. In Johovica in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every sixth inhabitant had the family name Bajrektarević.
