In Croatia, Arman families are predominantly Croats (from Buje area ), rarely Italians (from Novigrad ), and very rarely Slovenes (from Buje area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Porec and Pula. In Nardući in Buje area every second inhabitant had the family name Arman.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Arman live in Croatia today, in 13 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in two Croatian counties, threee cities and four other places, mostly in Narduci (15) and Vizinada (10) in Buje area, Buzinija (<5), Porec (<5), and in Mihatovici (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
