Anušić families are Croats and they are mostly from Banja Luka area (Bosnia) and according to some sources they are from Sinj. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Banja Luka Region, Bosnia (Banja Luka area) and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanska Gradiska area). In Barlovci in Banja Luka Region (Bosnia) every fourth inhabitant had the family name Anušić.
Prevalence
About 910 people with faimily name Anušić live in Croatia today, in 370 households. There were 170 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 50 cities and 108 other places, mostly in Zagreb (200), Slavonski Brod (45), Sesvete (35), Petrinja (35), and in Cerna in Zupanja area (35).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
