Antolović families are Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia. According to some sources they are from Italy (Genova or Verona). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Maglaj area) and in Zagreb. In places Goliješnica and Komšići in Middle Bosnia every eighth inhabitant had the family name Antolović.
Prevalence
About 1600 people with faimily name Antolović live in Croatia today, in 660 households. There were 1200 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 71 cities and 166 other places, mostly in Zagreb (235), Rijeka (60), Osijek (55), Pula (50), and in Nasice (45).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1749 in source 18th Century Census.
