Antić families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Crikvenica. According to some sources they are from Sibenik area, rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and Sibenik. In Selce in Crikvenica every third inhabitant had the family name Antić.
Prevalence
About 1500 people with faimily name Antić live in Croatia today, in 650 households. There were 900 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 64 cities and 102 other places, mostly in Zagreb (395), Selce (175), Rijeka (100), Pula (75), and in Split (75).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over fifty times, the first time 1678 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
