In Croatia, Alajbegović families are predominantly Croats (from Opatija area ), rarely Bosniaks (from Bosnian Krajina ), and very rarely Russians (from Zagreb ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Rijeka. In Kopljevići in Bosnian Krajina every eighth inhabitant had the family name Alajbegović.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Alajbegović live in Croatia today, in 18 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and threee other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Makarska (<10), Buje (<5), Rijeka (<5), and in Pula (<5).
