In Croatia, Adamov families are mainly Croats (from Rijeka area ), rarely Serbs, and very rarely Macedonians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Vukovar.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Adamov live in Croatia today, in 9 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are only located in four Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Zagreb (<10), Negoslavci in Vukovar area (<5), Pula (<5), Velika Gorica (<5), and in Vukovar (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
