Adamić families are Croats and they are mostly from Novi Marof area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Varazdin. In Pofuki in Novi Marof area nearly every inhabitant had the family name Adamić.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Adamić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 31 other places, mostly in Zagreb (50), Pofuki in Novi Marof area (35), Krizevci (20), Sesvete (<10), and in Porec (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
