Abram families are Croats and they are mostly from Omis. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Omis and Split.
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Abram live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 11 other places, mostly in Lovran in Opatija area (15), Nova Sela (15), Split (15), Rijeka (10), and in Kamen (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
