In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and in Buzet area. In Račja Vas in Buzet area every third inhabitant had the family name Črnac.

About 110 people with faimily name Črnac live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled.
They are located in threee Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Rijeka (30), Buzet (15), Rovinj (15), Pula (<10), and in Medulin in Pula area (<10).
