Vela Učka is located in the City of Opatija, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level and it covers the area of 7.35 km² (2.84 sq. miles). According to the 2011 census report, there were 39 inhabitants. It is entirely populated by Croats.
