Gornja Motičina is located in the municipality Donja Motičina, in Osijek-Baranja County at an elevation of 196 meters above sea level and it covers the area of 16.49 km² (6.37 sq. miles). According to the 2011 census report, there were 47 inhabitants. It is mostly populated by Croats (56%), but also Serbs (44%). Nearby places: Gazije, Valenovac, Seona, Donja Motičina, Šumeđe, Feričanci, Crkvari, Gradac Našički, Stara Jošava and Nova Jošava.
