Šumeđe is located in the City of Orahovica, in Virovitica-Podravina County at an elevation of 290 meters above sea level and it covers the area of 4.14 km² (1.60 sq. miles). According to the 2011 census report, there were 33 inhabitants. It is mostly populated by Serbs (72%), but also Croats (28%).
