Donje Kusonje is located in the municipality Voćin, in Virovitica-Podravina County at an elevation of 123 meters above sea level and it covers the area of 6.20 km² (2.39 sq. miles). According to the 2011 census report, there were only five inhabitants left. It is mostly populated by Serbs (63%), but also Croats (38%). Nearby places: Radosavci, Gornje Kusonje, Novo Kusonje, Lukavac, Donji Meljani, Bistrica, Mačkovac, Hum Varoš, Sladojevački Lug and Sladojevci.
