Željković families are Croats and they are mostly from Ogulin area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Ogulin area. In Lipov Pesak in Ogulin area every second inhabitant had the family name Željković.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Željković live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 9 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Karlovac (15), Zagreb (15), Split (10), Pula (<10), and in Duga Resa (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
